Annual spring rabies vaccination clinics in St. Joseph

The City of St. Joseph Animal Services has announced the dates for its annual spring rabies vaccination clinics. The clinics will take place during the first two weeks of May at various locations throughout the city. Senior Animal Care Specialist, Aubrey Silvey says the clinics provide affordable access to essential pet care services.

"Just that easy accessible way for them to get that done so that they can make sure their pets are healthy and vaccinated and also get in compliance with city licensing or if they need their pet microchipped. The goal is to reach as many people as possible.", says Silvey.

Local veterinarians are volunteering their time to provide rabies shots for just $5. Combination vaccines will be available for $10, cash only, and microchips will be free to St. Joseph residents while supplies last, thanks to a grant from Petco Love. City registration tags are also available—$10 for spayed or neutered pets and $25 for unaltered pets, with proof of alteration required.

New this year, St. Joseph Animal Services has partnered with DocuPet, a digital licensing and lost pet recovery platform. While pet licenses will no longer be sold onsite, staff will assist pet owners with the new online registration system during the clinics.
