Accident on Missouri Route 6 left child with serious injuries

A 5 year old Jamesport boy was life-flighted to Children's Mercy Hospital in Kansas City following a accident Wednesday evening.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the boy was riding a horse southbound on Missouri Route 6 two miles east of Jamesport. A Jeep Wrangler, driven by an 18 year-old femaile from Gallatin, was traveling east on Route 6 when it struck the horse.

The child came to rest in the roadway. The child suffered serious injuries. The Wrangler was totaled.
