Nodaway Chorale's spring concert is "Music, She Wrote"

The Nodaway Chorale in Maryville presents its spring concert Sunday. The theme of this year's concert is "Music, She Wrote" and features music created by women composers and arrangers.

"A music distributor put a page up on their website that said, "We want to give you a list of all of the pieces that we have by female composers". Well seeing it all at once on a really long list, at least for me, it was a wake-up moment where I went, "Wow, I didn't realize that." That's where the theme started.", saiys Rash.

The Chorale will perform music by Missouri based artists Mary Lynn Lightfoot and Susan LaBarr, and comtemporary creators like Dolly Parton and Carole King. Rash adds the concert will also include performances by the Youth Choir of Northwest Missouri.

"They're second grade through high school. They just started in 2022. They're a very energetic group, they do great music and they're loving choral music.", says Rash.

Rash says the concert begins at 4:00 Sunday at the Schneider Performing Arts Center at Maryville High School. That's at 1501 South Munn Avenue in Maryville.
