Nodaway Chorale will present "Music, She Wrote" for spring concert

The Nodaway Chorale will present a concert of choral music on Sunday, April 27 at 4:00 p.m. at the Schneider Performing Arts Center at Maryville High School, located at 1501 South Munn Avenue in Maryville.

The concert is titled “Music, She Wrote” and will focus entirely on music composed and arranged by women. Chorale Music Director Jim Rash says the program will highlight the contributions of women across a range of musical genres—from classical and opera to pop and film. The performance will feature works by legendary composer Alice Parker, contemporary artists like Dolly Parton and Carole King, as well as Missouri-based composers Mary Lynn Lightfoot and Susan LaBarr.

Joining the Nodaway Chorale on stage will be the Youth Choir of Northwest Missouri, directed by Joni Voss. The choir includes singers from second grade through high school. Voss says the opportunity helps young performers grow and connect through music while sharing their passion with the community.

Admission to the concert is free, though tax-deductible donations will be accepted at the door. The Nodaway Chorale is a non-profit, non-audition, secular mixed voice choir made up of 60 singers from communities in Nodaway and neighboring counties.
