Mosaic Life Care setting up for their "Mammothon"

Mosaic Life Care is getting set for a special event geared toward women's health this weekend.
The Mammothon offers extended hours to schedule a mammogram in St. Joseph, Maryville and Albany.
Mosaic in St. Joe will do screenings until 11 o'clock Friday night while Maryville and Albany will be open until 9 that evening.
St. Joseph and Albany will also have appointments available Saturday.
Doctor Rony Abou-Jawde, a medical oncologist at Mosaic, says mammograms have been proven to save lives.
He adds family history is only one component of breast cancer and 1 in 8 women will develop breast cancer by the time they reach their 70s, regardless of family history.

"There's a lot of things that can lead to breast cancer, things that we still don't know. So it takes a lot of education. We talk a lot about the advancement of the mammogram with the 3D mammograms. The process is not as difficult or as complicated as it used to be. It's very fast and very reliable to get the information very quickly. We do a lot of education to get that message across.", says Abou-Jawde.
