Maryville Downtown Pavilion plans are being finalized

Plans are being finalized for the Maryville Downtown Pavilion, located between Fourth and Fifth Streets just off the east side of Main Street. Interim City Manager Ryan Heiland says the new Pavilion will be a welcome addition to downtown Maryville.

"So that will be kind of the new home primarily for the farmers markets on Saturdays, we'll be there. It will also be able to be used for all kinds of other community events.", says Heiland.

Heiland says the Pavilion can also be converted into an ice rink in the wintertime.

"Kind of a plastic product that you're able to skate on, looks and performs just like ice, so we will have that during the winter time in the pavillion. It'll be a nice shelter. We haven't finalized the final size of the canopy but it'll probably be about 50 feet wide by 80 feet long, so good size canopy to host events under.", says Heiland.

Heiland adds request for bids on work for that project as well as the new downtown pedestrian alleyway are going out to construction firms this month.
