Thousands of blue jackets will fill Columbia this week as more than 8,000 FFA members and guests gather for the 97th Missouri FFA State Convention. The event runs tomorrow through Friday at the Hearnes Center on the University of Missouri campus.
This year’s theme, “Dance with Opportunity,” celebrates the achievements of young leaders in agriculture and offers workshops, competitions, and the election of new state officers.
Missouri FFA Advisor Keith Dietzschold says over 1,000 members will receive the prestigious State FFA Degree—Missouri’s highest FFA honor. Awards will also be presented in 45 agricultural proficiency areas, recognizing students whose supervised agricultural experience programs generated more than $69 million in income statewide.
National FFA President Thaddeus Bergschneider will headline Wednesday night’s session, along with several state leaders in education and agriculture.
