Amazon will be building a new last-mile sorting and delivery facility in Maryville

Maryville City officials announced yesterday a major company will be investing in the community. Interim City Manager Ryan Heiland says after nearly a year of discussions between the City of Maryville, Nodaway County Economic Development and Maryville Industrial Development Corporation, Amazon will build a new last-mile sorting and delivery facility in Maryville.

"It is an 11,800 square foot sorting facility and it should bring in around 30 new jobs in the area.", says Heiland.

Heiland says the new Amazon building will benefit Maryville in several different ways.

"When other companies and industries are looking at where to invest, having a comapny like Amazon shine a spotlight on Maryville shows that it's worth a multi-million dollar investment as a community as well as this region. That's a fantastic part of that. Having the construction take place will be a benefit for all of the construction companies that will be involved.", says Heiland.

Heiland says the Amazon Last Mile Sorting and Delivery operation will be located in the Maryville Industrial Park on the east edge of the community. Heiland anticipates construction on the new facility to be complete by next spring.
