MARYVILLE, Mo. - Small farmers and orchard enthusiasts in Maryville have the chance to learn hands-on fruit tree grafting and business strategies during an upcoming University of Missouri Extension workshop.
The "Root to Profit" workshop takes place Tuesday, March 25, from 4 to 7 p.m., equipping participants with practical skills to expand their operations.
Attendees will learn about orchard management, business planning, and financial resources available to small farmers.
Officials say the workshop is a great opportunity for producers looking to improve profitability while gaining hands-on experience. Participants will also graft their own apple and pear trees and take home three trees they’ve worked on.
The event will feature presentations from the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Farm Service Agency, which will provide information on loan programs and support for small farms.
Registration details and more information can be found at the MU Extension website.
