MARYVILLE, Mo. - Maryville city officials have approved a contract to build a new 80-by-80-foot community hangar at Northwest Missouri Regional Airport.
Assistant City Manager Ryan Heiland says the $595,000 project was awarded to Four K Construction and came in significantly under the estimated $800,000 cost.
The majority of funding will come from federal sources, including Non-Primary Entitlement Funds and the 2021 Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, leaving the city responsible for just over $50,000.
The new hangar will feature an 18-foot electric bifold door, allowing larger aircraft such as jets and helicopters to use the facility.
Construction is expected to begin this spring, marking a key step in the airport’s long-term improvement plan.
