Standout Northwest Missouri State defensive lineman Kobe Clayborne was named to the 2023 Academic All-America football team by College Sports Communicators Tuesday morning.

Clayborne, a native of Sioux City, IA, is just the 25th Bearcat football player, and the 49th Northwest student-athlete from any sport, to earn the recognition.

The junior posted a 4.0 GPA while studying corporate finance. On the football field, Clayborne received second team All-MIAA honors after posting six sacks, 10 tackles for loss and two forced fumbles.
