TRENTON, Mo. - The city of Trenton had once been in contention for a prison built on the north end of town, however, as plans changed, the city council appointed a new task force to brainstorm ideas to repurpose the available land.
With the task force now being in action, the force will be able to decide possible uses or if the land would be better sold.
City Administrator Ron Urton says amongst the ideas is a halfway house for women overcoming alcohol and substance abuse.
Permits were granted to continue on with this project and will require halfway house residents to retain full-time jobs amongst other ordinances enforced by the city.
