MARYVILLE, Mo. - After nearly a month since the approval of a no-tax increase measure, the Maryville R-2 School District is gearing up for action.

Many in the district have already taken note of the future videoboard planned for the high school football field, visible in the high school parking lot.

Superintendent Doctor Logan Lightfoot has confirmed that groundbreaking and construction are scheduled to commence shortly.

Lightfoot further elaborated that the immediate commencement of construction will also aid in advancing their largest project yet, which involves Eugene Field Elementary School.

The plan entails demolishing the east end of the building and replacing it with a new, two-story addition. This addition will house twelve classrooms along with a modern, secure front office and visitor reception area.
