Officials getting ready for Northwest Missouri Spelling Bee

ST. JOSEPH, Mo. - Mosaic Life Care Foundation is gearing up to host and sponsor the highly anticipated Northwest Missouri Regional Spelling Bee, set to take place on Saturday, March 4, at emPowerU in St. Joseph.

Registration opens at 12:30 p.m., followed by the commencement of the spelling bee competition at 1 p.m.

This event brings together the top spellers from 13 counties in northwest Missouri, with each county sending its two finest representatives to compete for spelling supremacy.

The ultimate champion speller of the regional bee will earn the prestigious opportunity to advance to the Scripps National Spelling Bee, slated to be held in the Washington D.C. area during the week of Memorial Day.

Leading the charge as judges for the 2023 Regional Bee are Jeanette Malita, Lori Witham, and Jolynn Venneman, ensuring fair and accurate assessments of the participants' spelling prowess.

Karen Heyde-Lipanovich will serve as the director and pronouncer for this engaging competition.
