MARYVILLE, Mo. - The Nodaway County Sheriff says he's a man of his word.

In a press release, Sheriff Randy Strong announced that he would not be seeking a third-term, mainly because he said he'd only serve two terms if citizens elected him.

Sheriff Strong was first elected back in 2016, and again in 2020. His current term expires on January 1, 2025.

In the press release, Sheriff Strong said that he is confident that he will leave the community with the best trained, dedicated and ethical deputies.

Primary elections for the next Nodaway County Sheriff are on August 6. First day for candidate filing is on February 27.
