DES MOINES, Iowa - The Iowa Department of Natural Resources is reminding hunters that several hunting seasons are winding down.

Pheasant, archery turkey, and deer seasons, along with the late muzzleloader deer season, are closing Wednesday, January 10.

Goose seasons will follow, concluding in the north zone on January 13, central zone on January 20, and south zone on January 27.

Quail, partridge, ruffed grouse, and squirrel seasons end on January 31, while rabbit season wraps up on February 28.

Furbearer hunting and trapping seasons also close on February 28, except for beavers, which can be trapped until April 15.

As a reminder, 2023 hunting licenses expire on January 10, and migratory bird hunters must register for the Harvest Information Program through various platforms, including the Go Outdoors Iowa app.
