DES MOINES, Iowa - It's been Iowa's big bike tour for over 50 years, and for first time in over a decade, it's stopping by several cities in the KXCV/KRNW listening area.
The 51st annual Des Moines Register's Annual Great Bike Ride Across Iowa will start off in Glenwood on Saturday, July 20.
The tour, which lasts through July 27, will also make two other stops in the KXCV/KRNW listening area, Red Oak and Atlantic. The tour will continue through Winterset, Knoxville, Ottumwa, Mount Pleasant and end in Burlington.
Last year's tour saw over 60,000 riders participate. While organizers don't expect that many, they do anticipate anywhere from 15,000 to 20,000 participants.
