PLEASANT HILL, Mo. - The National Weather Service confirmed three tornado touchdowns in our listening area this past weekend.

The NWS survey team says the first tornado hit downtown Trenton at 7:39 p.m. Saturday and was only on the ground for two minutes over half a mile. The EF-0 had peak winds around 85 miles per hour.

The other two tornadoes were in Linn County, with the first dropping at 8:22 p.m. Saturday and staying on the ground for 24 minutues. The EF-2 tore through 12 miles with peak winds at 135 mph.

The second tornado started tearing up the area at 8:57 p.m. and was on the ground until 9:14 p.m. The EF-1 had peak winds of 99 mph.

The NWS adds the two Linn County tornadoes could have been one continuous tornado, but the survey crew was unable to determine that because of few observable damage indicators.
