Iowa DNR brings back fishing passport

DES MOINES, Iowa - A popular program is being brought back this summer in Iowa. The Hook n’ Paddle Passport, launched last summer, has been refreshed and is ready for sign-ups.

Through the passport, people can check in at more than 90 local fishing and paddling locations across Iowa, and earn points. In-pass mapping makes it easy to find locations near you.

Each check-in rewards you with 100 points and those points can eventually be redeemed for prizes. For passport holders who participated in 2022, last summer’s passport has expired.

The 2023 passport offers the opportunity to start over with all new check-ins between the beginning of this month and the end of August. For more information or to sign-up, visit iowadnr.gov/kayakfishing.
