KIDDER, Mo. - Two women are in the hospital after a collision in Caldwell County. The Missouri State Highway Patrol says it happened on 36 Highway, near J Highway, about two miles south of Kidder at 3:20 p.m. Wednesday.

Authorities say 57-year-old Sonja Schaefermeyer of Hamilton was driving a 2007 Toyota Highlander that traveled into the path of a 2016 Dodge Grand Caravan on 36 Highway.

The Dodge, driven by 48-year-old Tracy Connell of Saint Joseph, struck the passenger side of the Toyota.

Schaefermeyer was taken to Mosaic Life Care in St. Joseph while Connell was taken to Cameron Regional Medical Center. Both suffered serious injuries.
