Preliminary data shows an increase in deer hunting

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. - Preliminary data from the Missouri Department of Conservation shows deer hunters had a field day.

During the opening weekend of the November portion of firearms deer season, hunters nabbed 93,355 deer. Last year, hunters checked 89,939 deer during opening weekend of the November portion of firearms deer season.

The November portion of firearms deer season continues through next Tuesday. Missouri’s archery deer and turkey season resumes next Wednesday and lasts through through Jan. 15.
