FOREST CITY, Mo. - The Missouri State Highway Patrol says a Nebraska man is in serious condition after a single-vehicle wreck in Holt County.

The Patrol says 74-year-old Charles Cornwell, of Omaha, wrecked on US Highway 159, five miles north of Forest City, at 10:15 p.m. Sunday.

Authorities say Cornwell was driving a 2021 Toyota Prius that traveled off the side of the road, struck a guard rail, traveled down an embankment, began to overturn, and then struck a concrete bridge support column.

Cornwell, who was wearing his seatbelt, was transported to Mosaic Life Care in St. Joseph with serious injuries.
