MARYVILLE, Mo. - The Nodaway County Sheriff's Office says a 42-year-old male inmate has died.
According to an email from Sheriff Randy Strong, the inmate suffered an apparent medical emergency shortly after 2 p.m. Saturday in the Nodaway County Jail.
He was transported to Mosaic Hospital in Maryville where he was pronounced dead. Sheriff Strong requested the Buchanan County Sheriff's Office, in conjunction with the Nodaway County Coroner, to investigate the death.
The inmate hasn't been identified, but the inmate's family has been notified.
