DES MOINES, Iowa - As summer gets ever closer, the Iowa Department of Natural Resources wants to keep people safe when boating, and is offering courses to educate boaters on safety.
Boating Law Administrator with the DNR Susan Stocker says that the boater education courses are not just for people new to boating.
The DNR says that there were 33 reported boating incidents in Iowa last year, including three fatalities.
Boater Education Courses are available both in-person and online throughout the year. More information is available at iowadnr.gov/boating.
