Congressman Graves speaks against Waters of the United States proposal

An environmental proposal that stirred strong opposition among agricultural groups during the Obama Administration has returned under the Biden Administration. President Biden has revived the Waters of the United States proposal, which would give the EPA authority to regulate bodies of water at their source.

Northern Missouri Congressman Sam Graves says the proposal goes way too far.

Graves says that under the proposal the EPA could use a flimsy pretense to come onto private property in the guise of protecting the environment. Opponents also charge the proposal far exceeds the authority granted the EPA under the Clean Water Act.
