BARNARD, Mo. - The Sound Nodaway Board of Education agreed to cancel the rest of the fall semester at it's meeting earlier this week.

The Board says the decision to cancel classes for the rest of the year, starting today, was not made lightly. The semester was set to end next Wednesday, December 23rd.

Officials say the decision comes after six confirmed positive COVID-19 cases amongst students, as well as five positive cases amongst staff.

Students will return to school on January 3rd. According to a press release, the district will make up the Fall days and an adjusted calendar will be released soon.
