JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. - Numbers are in from Missouri's anterless portion of the firearms deer season. The season, which lasts from December 4-12, saw 14,896 deers hunted.
This is a slight dip from last year's anterless portion which saw 15,620 deer hunted. There doesn't appear to be a reason for the drop, especially since the weather was warmer than usual and the antlerless portion was extended from three to nine days this year.
The Missouri Department of Conservation reminds hunters that the archery deer season runs through January 15.
