DES MOINES, Iowa - The Iowa Department of Natural Resources is urging hunters to think about safety measures before they head out.

That's because over the past weekend, there were four deer hunting accidents, including one that resulted in death. Officials say that it's important to put together a hunting plan that identifies the role and location of each member of the hunting party.

Officials add that people should also be wearing more than the minimum amount of blaze orange than is required for hunting. Iowa's second shotgun deer season begins this Saturday with an estimated 120,000 hunters expected to participate.
