MSHP identifies man in fatal wreck

BETHANY, Mo. - The Missouri State Highway Patrol says a man died in a two-vehicle wreck in Harrison County.

The Patrol says 22-year-old Gaige Sherer of Ridgeway, wrecked on County Road 205, less than a mile southwest of Bethany at 7:50 a.m. Wednesday.

Authorities say Sherer was driving a 2004 Dodge Dakota northbound that overtook a hillcrest and struck a southbound John Deere farm tractor, driven by 28-year-old Andrew Darby of Bethany.

Sherer was pronounced dead at 9:58 a.m. at Cameron Regional Medical Center and was transported to Roberson Funeral Home in Bethany. He was not wearing a seatbelt.
