MO teacher and daughter found dead

COLUMBIA, Mo. - Northwest Missouri State University says one of their online students was found dead over the past weekend.

According to a press release, Allison Abitz and her 11-year-old daughter were found dead Sunday at their Missouri home in Boone County. Sheriff's Office Deputies discovered the bodies after a concerned relative reached out.

The 43-year-old taught second grade at an elementary school in Fulton. Authorities are investigating the discovery as a double homicide, but haven't released any details about why they believe this is a homicide case.

Police are asking anyone with information to please come forward in this case. No suspect information has been released yet.
