Road and bridge repairs call for alternate routes to be taken

Bridge joint repairs continue at the intersection of U.S. Route 36, Interstate 229, and Route 759 in St. Joseph.

From now until August 16th, lanes of 6th Street under U.S. Route 36 will be narrowed and 6th Street from Hickory to Monterry could close intermittently.

From now until August 27th, the ramp from U.S. Route 36 westbound to I-229 southbound and the ramp from I-229 northbound to U.S. Route 36 are closed.

Starting Monday, one lane of U.S. Route 36 between the Kansas state line and 10th Street will close, as well as the ramp from 8th and 9th street to U.S. 36 westbound.

And from August 9th through the 29th, the ramp from I-229 southbound to U.S. Route 36 eastbound will close.

Motorists are advised to use alternate routes to reach their destination. All dates are weather dependant and subject to change. For more information and updates on the project, visit modot.org/northwest .
