The Maryville City Council met earlier this week. According to City Manager Greg McDanel, the council was given an update on work done by Missouri Department of Transportation crews on East First Street. McDanel says additional repairs on the roadway may be in the future.
"But city staff is working with the Missouri Department of Transportation to analyze other alternatives for a more robust project that may look to rebuild the roadway as well as add storm drains and pedestrian features. We're in initial discussions right now, but we appreciate the Missouri Department of Transportation for their efforts to repair First Street on a block-by-block basis right now."
East First Street in Maryville was one of several in the community that was affected by last winter's extreme conditions.
