Missouri lawmakers increased funding for kindergarten through 12th grade education during the general assembly session that recently concluded in Jefferson City. First District State Representative Allen Andrews, a Republican from Grant City, says they were able to increase education funding due to an improved overall state budget this year.
"Our budget is around a 30 billion dollar budget, so we saw fully funding the school foundation formula as well as an increase to the transportation part of the foundation for K-12 funding. Which is very important especially in rural areas."
