News Brief

Temperatures slowly rise as the next system comes in

More snowfall blanketed Northwest Missouri last night. The National Weather Service has received reports of as high as 7.5 inches in Maryville and 3.6 inches in Albany. Meteorologist with the National Weather Service Pamela Pietrycha says the snow should have some chance to melt and improve road conditions over the next couple days.

"We'll see temperatures hanging out in the lower 30s.  We might get up to right around freezing so roads will likely start to melt and hopefully improve quite a bit as the day goes on.  As we head into tomorrow and towards later in the week, we're looking at temperatures climbing into the mid to upper 30s, maybe reaching some 40s by Saturday."

Pietrycha adds more precipitation is expected later this week into this weekend.

"We are looking at a system that is going to move in later this week into the weekend.  We're still monitoring the system, but it does look like most of this will be in the form of rain with maybe some snow on the back side of it."
