Nominations being accepted for 2019 Alumni Awards

The Northwest Missouri State University Alumni Association is accepting nominations for people to be recognized at its annual awards banquet next fall. The awards are presented each year to individuals who have demonstrated achievement or dedication to Northwest. Director of Alumni Relations and Annual Giving Bob Machovsky says the awards aren't just limited to alumni. 

"We have an award such as the Honorary Alumni Award who recognizes an individual who is not an alumn of the university but they definitely have that same sprit.  They definitely engage with the university as an alumn would.  That award in itself is a way for us to honor that individual who has the bearcat spirtit, who shows it, who supports the university  So we have that award to recognize them."

Other awards include the distinguished faculty award, distinguished faculty emeritus award, the distinguished alumni award, the turret service award, the young alumni reward and the public service award. Nomination forms are available at www.nwmissouri.edu.  Forms are due by Friday, March 1st.  Awards will be presented to their recipients at the 2019 Alumni Awards Banquet on Friday September 27th in the J-W Jones Student Ballroom.
