Governor Parson's visit to Nodaway County today is cancelled

Missouri Governor Mike Parson was to visit Nodaway County this afternoon to promote a plan to improve the state's bridges, but cancelled the visit due to icy conditions at the regional airport.  In his State of the State address, Governor Parson proposed a program to replace or repair 250 of Missouri's poor bridges.  Parson wanted to inspect one of those bridges - the White Cloud Creek Bridge located on Route 46 just west of Maryville.  Missouri Department of Transportation Director Patrick McKenna and local staff were planning to be with the Governor as they got a first hand look at one of four deteriorating structures on Route 46 in Nodaway County.

The visit is not expected to be rescheduled.
