First Thursday Downtown Noon Concert Series in St. Joseph is this Thursday

The First Thursday Downtown Noon Concert Series in St. Joseph is back for its 20th season beginning at 12:10 this Thursday at the First Presbyterian Church, 7th and Jules. The Performance will feature Northwest Missouri State University faculty members - professor of music, Bill Richardson, trumpet and Jiwon Choi, piano, along with Missouri Western assistant professor of voice, Paul Hindemith, baritone vocalist. Coordinator of the Noon Concert Series Jerry Anderson says this 35-minute concert starts in September through April each year, except for January.

"Partly to draw people downtown. Partly to have a daytime event that the elderly and the disabled can attend, better than they can at night. We have musicians from Missouri Western State University, and alumni and faculty performing in them.  We mainly do classical-type music, some pop, some jazz."

The audience is invited to bring a sack lunch to eat during the performance. Beverages will be provided. There will be an opportunity to meet the musicians after the concert.
