Farm lease program to be held Tuesday in Bethany

A program on Missouri farm leases will be held tomorrow at the Harrison County Extensions Office at 1505 Main in the courthouse basement in Bethany. Agricultural Business Specialist of the University of Missouri Extension Mary Soba says the course will cover a wide range of information for both landowners and tenants.

"It's a class for could be landlords or the tenants.  We're going to cover things including some of the trends with cash rent, some of the factors influencing rent, things that should be in a lease whether you're the tenant or the landlord, livestock and crop share agreements and what is fair, what is equitable.  Another piece a lot of people forget is actually terminating a lease. It will also include recreational leases, a lot of times common leases, hunting leases."

The course will be instructed by a team of Agricultural Business Specialists from the University of Missouri Extension via live-stream. The course will be held from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. For more information, call the Harrison County Extension Office at 660-425-6434.
