Albany Board of Aldermen approves application for trail system

The Albany Board of Aldermen approved an application for federal assistance for a trail system at its meeting Tuesday night.
The board passed a resolution approving the application for assistance from the Recreational Trails Program to assist with the Coccent and Keep Fit trail system phase 2. City Administrator Derek Brown says this is another part of a previous project.

"We, several years ago, acquired funding through this program and did some trails around our park, our swimming pool, and community center area and this is an offshoot of that program.  I think we're actually calling it a phase 2 of that trail project.  That generally will be in the vicinity of our baseball parks.  We hope to be successful in that and get this project started this coming summer if possible."

The application will be submitted to the Recreational Trails Program and will await approval.  The board also re-appointed Valerie Anthony to the Library Board and approved an amendment to a repayment agreement with Roeslein Alternative Energy of Missouri at Tuesday's meeting.
