Online purchase taxes, sports gambling & redistricting to be considered in MO legislature

Missouri lawmakers will consider whether to collect sales taxes on online purchases, allow sports gambling and overhaul legislative redistricting when they return for the start of the 2019 session.
The annual five-month session begins Wednesday.
The Republican-led Legislature will be faced with whether to require online retailers to collect sales taxes on things sold to Missouri residents, which could bring in millions of dollars in new revenue.
Sports betting is also on the table now that the U.S. Supreme Court has opened the door for it in all 50 states.
Parson and Republican leaders in the House and Senate also are interested in asking voters to once again revamp redistricting in response to another voter-approved constitutional amendment that might cost the Republicans legislative seats
