Chillicothe achievements & improvements to come

2018 saw the City of Chillicothe make a number of important achievements including a boost to the local economy. Chillicothe City Manager Darin Chappell says their main focus was to cut waste from the budget.

" We've done a significant job with that.  We have been able to maintain services without raising fees, without raising taxes. We've had a surplus this year for the first time in several years and we're very proud of that."

Chappell adds several important projects are slated for 2019 such as improvements to the city's airport runway and the possibility of a new police station.

"This is done in agreement with the same principle of not going backwards financially, not raising taxes and not raising fees.  But just being very conservative with the money and the city lives well within its means."
