Six Northwest Missouri State University students have earned cash prizes and experience from a Computer Science and Informations Systems competition through Kansas City Power and Light. The competition is conducted by faculty of Northwest's School of Computer science. Students submit research papers and a panel of faculty selects a group of finalists to present their papers to a panel of judges from KCP&L. A senior computer science major form Gran Valley, Missouri, David Moyer, took 1st place in the competition and won a $340 prize for his presentation on virtual reality. Patrick Blair, a senior computer science major from Dallas Center, Iowa, took 2nd place. Chulho Yoon, a senior accounting and management information systems major from South Korea, took 3rd. Honorable mentions went to Randall Porter, a senior form Bowling Green, Missouri; Robert Becthold, a junior form Runnells, Iowa; and Kaleb Odle from Dearborn, Missouri.
