Nodaway County Voters took to the polls yesterday to vote on two major local issues.
One of the issues was a race for the Nodaway County Recorder of Deeds. In that race, Republican Lisa Nickerson won the race over Democrat Sandy Smail taking 55% of the vote compared to Smail's 44%. The other major issue in Nodaway County was the ordinance regarding a local use tax in the city of Maryville. The use tax would have allowed the city of Maryville to charge a local sales tax on purchase from online companies such as Amazon. That measure failed with 55% voting No.
