MO artist to present Family Secrets exhibit in St. Joseph

Webb City, Missouri based artist Steve Head is presenting an exhibit of his work at the Glore Psychiatric Museum located at 3406 Frederick Avenue on Thursday, November 29th from 4 to 6 PM. Marketing and Public Relations director Kathy Reno says that Head began creating mixed media in 2012 and takes on intricate topics through his art.

"Steve Head works in mixed media.  He began painting in 2012, and then it occurred to him to use all types of different media in his work.  From there, he began to look at old family photos and that helped him branch out as fas as now he tackles topics related to mental illness: early onset Altzheimer's, substance abuse, and so on.  The types of issues that can come up in a family that maybe people don't talk about.  And he began to work and create art that can be exhibited in museums."

Family Secrets will run through May 2019. Visitors can view it during the regular Museum hours of 10 AM to 5 PM, Monday through Saturday and 1 PM to 5 PM on Sunday.
