Waterline project set to begin on Mattie St.

Maryville residents near Mattie Street in Maryville will soon see improvements to their water lines. Maryville City Manager Greg McDanel says the City Council recently approved funds for need a needed upgrade in that portion of the community.

"The FY18 budget included $80,000 for the purchase of materials for the repair of about 7 blocks of water line on South Mattie Street.  This is an existing 4-inch water line that's been a source of numerous leaks in the past.  We look to upgrade that inhouse with our staff to an 8-inch line.  Simply we didn't get to it in the last fiscal year.  So staff proceeded with the materials purchase and we hope to get staff going on that project to have a new waterline on Mattie Street."

McDanel estimates work should be completed on the project in the next 90 days.
