Two men are in serious condition after a one vehicle incident outside of Tarkio. According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, a pickup driven by 41-year-od Daniel Beckman of Westboro, Missouri was northbound on US Route 59, 3 miles north of Tarkio when he travelled off the east side of the roadway, struck a utility pole, travelled up an embankment and became airborn. The vehicle overturned while airborn and returned to the ground off the east side of the roadway. Beckman and his passenger 22-year-old Trev Martin were transported to Community Hsspital of Fairfax, then to University of Nebraska Hospital in Lincoln, Nebraska by Atchison-Holt EMS. The accident was assisted by the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Atchison County Sheriff's Office, Tarkio Police Department and Atchison County first repsonders
