Stanberry Life Skils class helps teach necessary skills

Stanberry R-2 Board of Education met in regular session earlier this week. Prior to the meeting, the board toured the Life Skills class, led by Kate Wiederholt and Rachael Luke. Stanberry Superintendent Bob Heddinger says one of the life skills class programs is the Bulldog Coffee Express.

"It's a program whereby each week an order form via email goes out to the staff to order a drink (coffee, tea, hot chocolate, juice) and a snack item like trail mix, puppy chow, or a breakfast snack type item.  Anyway, the students then prepare those items and deliver them on Friday to the staff.  This whole thing is designed to teach some of our students in the special ed program some of the necessary life skills that they will need when they leave school to enter the workforce."
