St. Joseph annual free flu clinic to be held on Wednesday, October 10

The City of St. Joseph Health Department will conduct its annual free flu clinic on (next) Wednesday, October 10 at the Rec Center, 2701 Southwest Parkway in St. Joseph. The Clinic is from 8:30 a.m. until noon or while supplies last. Clinic Supervisor for the City of St. Joseph Health Department Connie Werner says it is their contribution to the community.

"We've been doing this since before flu clinics were readily available around the city.  And as more people have more options for flu shots - we're thrilled about that - but we still want to offer our contribution to make sure people have the opportunity to get that flu shot and get that protection from the flu."

Werner adds she encourages people to get a vaccine.

"People forget or are not aware of how sick some people can get with the flu.  It's not a cold, and it's not something that some people just get over.  There are some people in our population who get ill, severly ill, and some that die from the flu.  So we do want to offer this one opportunity to have protection from that flu virus."

For more information regarding the flu clinic contact the St. Joseph Health Department.
