Possible 1-inch hail from sunset to 10 pm tonight

Thunderstorms are in the forecast for northwest Missouri this weekend and locally heavy rain could cause some flash flooding.
Meteorologist with the National Weather Service Jimmy Barham says the best rain chances are coming this evening into tomorrow morning.

"So just after sunset, we're expecting pretty much a line of showers and thunderstorms to form over southeast Nebraska, and then that's going to push into your area roughly just after sunset.  That's probably going to last probably through the morning time frame.  Then it's going to clear out over your region for the time being.  Could expect 1 to 2 inches with that boundary that pushes through."

Barham adds that some of the storms this evening could be severe.

"Early on in the evening, I'd say from sunset till about 10 o'clock at night, there's a chance for some severe, I would say, 1-inch hail ... would be your max hail you're looking for.  Winds are not going to be an issue.  It's going to be small to large hail."
