Nominations needed for Chamber Agriculture awards

The Greater Maryville Chamber of Commerce Agriculture Committee is seeking nominations for awards such as Outstanding Farm Woman, Outstanding Farm Youth, Agriculture Hall of Fame, Outstanding Conservationist, Outstanding Farm Family and Farm Advocate. Executive Director of Greater Maryville Chamber of Commerce Lily White says this is a way to show appreciation to the outstanding people in the community.

"It is a time for our community and our city leaders to recognize and show appreciation for all the agricultural development that happens in our community, and just how much that has really affected the growth and sustainality of our community."

White adds there are a few ways to nominate people.

"So anytime that anyone, if they want to nominate themselves or if they want to nominate someone else, they can just send us information here at the Chamber.  Or they can reach out to any of the contacts in any of the other group names, so the Lions Club, the Rotary, the Missouri Extension Office, or the Nodaway County Soil & Water Conservaion District."

The 58th Annual Nodaway County Farm-City Banquet will be held Monday, December 3, for the first time at the Mozingo Conference Center.  For more information or to nominate someone contact the Great Maryville Chamber of Commerce.
